Finding the Time for Great Service by Using InStar More Effectively

When we talk to agents and CSRs, the number one reason that they give me for not providing the level of service that they want to provide is “I’m too busy.”
- “I’m too busy to do account reviews.”
- “I’m too busy to look for opportunities to cross-sell.”
- “I’m too busy to send renewal letters.”
- “I’m too busy to send endorsement confirmations.”
- “I’m too busy to send thank you notes.”
- “I’m too busy to ____.” (Fill in the blank.)

How Well Do Your Know InStar?
The New Year is a great time to evaluate:
- How well you are using InStar now?
- Where you can make InStar work harder for you?
Start with the list of things that you know you could be doing, but aren’t.
If you are like most agents, you’ve attended a NIUG conference, Virtual Users Group meeting or PeopleInsure training over the years. You probably got a list of many things that you learned and at least 3-5 things that you wanted to implement to use InStar more effectively, but haven't done yet. Pick the one that will make the most difference. Implement that one idea this week.
Quiz Yourself
Take a quiz to see how well you and your staff know the system.
This provides a great starting point to see how well you know the basic features of the system.
You can do an in-house quiz. Have your most knowledgeable InStar user quiz others. This is a great way to begin to learn and share what each other knows. The limitation to this approach is that you can only get as far as your most knowledgeable person’s knowledge.
